PVC
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is the most common member of the vinyl group of plastics. PVC has high strength-to-weight ratio and is a good electrical and thermal insulator. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a self-extinguishing material and are categorised with extremely low water absorption. PVC is chemical, acid and abrasion resistant material. Polyvinyl chloride is a strong and durable material, which ages slowly. PVC offers excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to outdoor conditions. Rigid PVC has high mechanical strength and toughness, very hard surface, excellent impact strength. Rigid PVC is easy to process. The disadvantage of PVC is that the material melts at a lower temperature than other plastics such as polyamide (PA), teflon (PTFE) and polyethylene (HDPE).
