Description
Teflon or PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a material with very good characteristics that no other plastic can offer. Teflon rods are a structural material allowing reliable operation at temperatures exceeding the limits of all thermoplastics. PTFE rods have one of the lowest coefficients of friction and excellent insulating properties. PTFE is chemically resistant to most substances.
The main advantages of PTFE rods are:
- Very high density
- High heat resistance
- Very low water absorption
- Lowest coefficient of friction of all solid materials
- Excellent insulator
- Excellent hydrophobicity
- Resistant to the action of an electric arc; oxygen, ozone; UV rays
- Suitable for the food industry
- Resistance to aging even at high temperatures and in the presence of solvents, oils, oxidizers and others
- High electrical strength
- Non-flammability – its surface is not sticky and does not ignite
