Description
Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic material with a semi-crystalline structure. Polypropylene rods have high resistance to chemicals, salts, acids and bases. It is for this reason that polypropylene rods are considered an excellent alternative to acid-resistant steel. Polypropylene PP rod has a high degree of stiffness and strength at room temperature, as well as low moisture absorption coefficient. For those exact reasons, polypropylene rod is a good choice for mechanical and structural applications. PP rod has higher strength, higher hardness and higher melting point compared to other types of plastics such as Polyethylene (PE).
Key features and benefits of polypropylene sheets:
- Very high chemical resistance
- Polypropylene sheets have excellent impact strength
- Excellent moisture resistance
- Suitable for the food industry
- Polypropylene rods are easily processed
