Description
Combi mica paper is a material consisting of 2 layers – micanite foil and ceramic paper. The micanite (muscovite) paper has glass reinforcement, giving it greater tensile strength during operation and installation. Mica foil has excellent electrical insulating qualities, while ceramic paper contributes with very low thermal conductivity. The softness of combi-mica ensures easier installation of the material, compared to other alternatives. The ceramic mica paper is specially produced to make the process of installation easier in the maintenance procedures, as the mica and ceramic paper are not separated making it easier to put in place. The smooth surface of this combi mica material makes the push-out easier by avoiding damage to the crucible. Combi-mica paper is used as slip plane in coreless induction furnaces to prevent early leakage and costly damage to the coil.
