Description
Mica tape (mica banding tape) is a combination of mica paper and a binding element. Micanite tape has high dielectric properties combined with good flexibility. Mica bandage tape allows for extended use at high temperature. Mica tape is easy to process and application.
Micanite is a material derived from flakes of mica bonded with an organic binder. Mica tape has good resistance to high temperatures and chemicals. The mica bandage tape combines low thermal conductivity with high dielectric strength and good resistance to high voltages.
Mica tape has a higher dielectric strength in comparison to polyglass banding tape, but doesn’t gain the same strength after baking. At the same time micanite tape is used in areas where fiberglass banding tape and cotton banding tape can’t be used.
